🏛 City Update
Route 501 on detour due to 94B Avenue road work
The city has Route 501 on detour while crews work on 94B Avenue between 61 Street and 68 Street. Buses are running via 50 Street, 90 Avenue and 92 Avenue instead. A handful of stops along the usual route are closed while the work continues. If you ride this route, plan a few extra minutes.
It's been in effect since June 24 and stays that way until end of summer.

Valley Line Southeast frequency increased for Edmonton Folk Music Festival
The city bumped up LRT service to help move Folk Fest crowds without a parking headache. Trains on the Valley Line Southeast run every 10 minutes from 6:30pm to end of service Thursday through Saturday, and from 2:30pm on Sunday. Get off at Muttart Stop for the bottom of the hill or Strathearn Stop for the top. There's free parking at Davies Station if you'd rather skip downtown traffic altogether.
The boosted schedule runs August 6 through 9.

Free ETS shuttle announced for Edmonton International Fringe Festival
Fringe is getting its own free shuttle this year, connecting the French Quarter to Old Strathcona. That means less time hunting for parking and more time in line for a show. It's a nice fix for what's usually the most annoying part of Fringe season.
Runs August 13 through 26.

The downtown DRTY Ice Cream window, along with host business Foosh, has officially closed. The owners cited rain, construction, road closures and parking costs as factors.
Good news: their Station Park location is still open.
🥐 Luso's Bakery Is Now Open
A new Portuguese bakery has opened at 11745 84 Street NW, taking over the former Battista's Calzones space.
If you're going, get the pasteis de nata — the classic Portuguese egg tarts.
